Gebian Species

Naunians

Naunians are a sharky race with livid, coarse skin, light eyes and serrated teeth. They tend towards larger and more athletic physiques but have a diversity of body types. They are generally very quick and flexible. They deliver live young – usually one or two pups at a time. They prefer water birth in their homes. Naunians have specialized gills to help them breath in water and air – as well as a water bladder to help keep them hydrated. Although they drink more water on average, they can go long periods without it if necessary. That said, they still prefer being near warmer bodies of water – particularly when child rearing is involved. Naunians often enjoy water or mud bathing – sometimes in the company of hecatians, suchians and sethians. Unlike hecatians, naunians are highly competitive, driven and tend towards activities that showcase their physical or mental prowess. They are usually easy going but aggressive when provoked.

Hecatians

Hecatians are an froggy race with smooth, muted, olive green skin and bright, golden eyes. They tend towards shorter and more slender physiques. They have larger, stronger, webbed hands and feet – as well as a lot of flexibility overall. They lay eggs – usually one or two at a time, in wet nests that they maintain in their homes. Hecatians have a specialized water bladder to help keep them hydrated, so although they drink more water on average, they can go long periods without it if necessary. That said, they still prefer being near warmer bodies of water – particularly when child rearing is involved. Hecatians often enjoy water or mud bathing – sometimes in the company of naunians, suchians and sethians. Hecatians tend to be more trusting than naunians and they enjoy both humor and mischief a great deal.

Suchians

Suchians are a crocodilian race with deep green scales, bright eyes and slit, vertical pupils. They are generally tall and heavily built with thick tails. Suchians usually prefer fertile areas around active bodies of water – particularly those with more heat and moisture, but they can adapt to most climates. Skin shedding is a careful cultural practice for suchians that is strongly communal. Suchians prefer forming warmed nests inside their homes with plenty of moisture. Suchians often enjoy water or mud bathing – sometimes in the company of naunians, hecatians and sethians. Much like naunians, suchians are highly competitive, so it is quite common for the two of their races to compete. Suchians are especially well represented into athletics, martial arts, the military and the police.

Horusians

Horusians are a falconic race with sleek, medium colored plumage and dark eyes. They are generally of medium height and build with elegant physiques. Their forearms and calves are covered in smooth, yellow scales and their nails are both sharp and pointed. They lay eggs – usually one or two at a time, in dry nests that they maintain in their homes. Horusians generally prefer open spaces and have a particular preference towards higher elevations. Much like bastians, horusians enjoy grooming as a persistent cultural practice. Horusians are known for their elegance, grace, agility, sharp senses and tendency towards both travel, communication and diplomacy.

Tuerians

Tuerians are a hippopotamic race with smooth, brownish skin and gargantuan physiques. They are the largest of the gebian races and are highly protective – tending towards territoriality when provoked. Tuerians deliver live birth after a long gestation period. They prefer warm, moist climates and strongly favor water and mud bathing – much like naunians, hecatians, suchians and sethians. Tuerians are known for their indomitable spirit and overwhelming strength. They are extremely hard working and are able to endure more physical or emotional pain that most other gebians. This strength is reinforced by their close communities and emphasis towards family unity. Tuerians are some of the most strongly parental gebian races and have even been known to protect children outside of their own species. Tuerians are strongly represented in a variety of fields but are most heavily represented in manual labor, childcare, food service and full-contact sports of all kinds. They are never afraid to get their hands dirty.

Sethians

Sethians are a boarish race with darker, greyish-brown, bristly fur, tall, stocky physiques and either brown or amber eyes. They have hands adapted for advanced tool use but retained hooved feet. They deliver live young and have female centered communities for the purposes of child rearing. Males tend towards rather solitary lifestyles – especially when they are young. Sethians tend to prefer temperate, open grasslands but can thrive well in colder climates. Like hecatians, they rely a lot on water consumption, but in addition to water bathing, even in modern times, they still enjoy mud bathing as a cultural practice – sometimes in the company of naunians, hecatians and suchians. Sethians are known for their strong, stable physiques and their tenacious personalities. They often enjoy manual labor, but are also highly expressive and have hearty appetites – tending towards hedonism from time to time. They are highly represented in factory jobs, food service and crafting.

Bastians

Bastians are a cattish race with brindled, greyish-brown, soft fur, amber eyes and slit, vertical pupils. They are generally of a medium height and build and tend towards athleticism on the whole. Bastians are most at home in warmer, dryer climates, but can thrive just about anywhere. Bastians enjoy grooming as a persistent cultural practice – something they share with horusians. They deliver live young after a long gestation period. Bastians are known for their natural intensity and passion – in both work, play and creative pursuits. Like naunians and suchians, they are highly competitive, so they are also commonly found in sports, martial arts, the military and police. Because of their powerful agility, however, they are even more likely to enjoy running, dancing and feats of courage. They are also very curious, playful and share a lot of the mischievousness of hecatians.

Anubians

Anubians are a jackalish race with tawny fur and light eyes. They are highly mesomorphic and generally quite athletic like bastians. They are at home in warmer climates but are among the most highly adaptable of the gebian races. They deliver live young after a long gestation period. Anubians are a very measured race – often preferring a calculated approach and a great deal of cooperation. Anubians are highly agile and mentally efficient, but they are also quite curious and playful. They are less mischievous than bastians, but are extremely friendly. They are the most adaptable of the gebian races so they can be found in almost any field or pursuit on Geb.
